We are excited to officially welcome you to the new Gallery Santa Barbara website.

This new site is more than just a place to browse photographs. For Philip and Nolan, it is the beginning of a larger story we have been building together. Gallery Santa Barbara was created to bring our photography, our love of the natural world, and our passion for beautifully made fine art prints into a new space on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara.

While the physical gallery gives people a place to slow down and experience the artwork in person, the website gives us a way to share that same vision with people before they ever walk through the door. Whether you are a local collector, a visitor planning a trip to Santa Barbara, an interior designer searching for artwork, or someone who simply loves the ocean, mountains, wildlife, and wild places, we wanted the website to feel like an open invitation.

A New Home for Our Photography

Gallery Santa Barbara brings together two different but complementary photographic worlds.

Philip’s work is deeply connected to the ocean, underwater life, Hawaii, wildlife, and moments of quiet connection in nature. His photographs often feel calm, intimate, and full of life. They remind you that the natural world is not something separate from us. It is something we are lucky to witness, protect, and be part of.

Nolan's photography has always been shaped by the mountains, deserts, storms, forests, and changing light of the American West. I grew up in the Eastern Sierra, between Bishop and Mammoth Lakes, and those landscapes shaped the way I see the world. From Yosemite storms to fall color, night skies, coastal scenes, and rare moments of weather and light, I have always been drawn to photographs that feel alive.

Together, our work gives Gallery Santa Barbara a collection that moves between ocean and mountain, calm and drama, coast and wilderness. That contrast is one of the things I am most excited about. The gallery is not built around one location or one subject. It is built around the feeling of being connected to something beautiful and real.

Built to Help You Explore Fine Art Photography Prints

One of the main goals of the new website is to make it easier to explore our fine art photography prints in a meaningful way.

Buying artwork online can be difficult because prints are not just images. The medium, size, finish, and presentation all matter. A photograph can feel completely different as a ready to hang metal print, a limited edition acrylic, a canvas print, a matted print, or a fine art paper print.

That is why we wanted the website to help visitors learn about the artwork and the different print options before making a decision. Opening Gallery Santa Barbara on State Street feels incredibly special.

Santa Barbara has such a unique relationship with place. The city sits between the mountains and the ocean, with coastal light, Spanish architecture, palm trees, beaches, history, and creative energy all woven together. It is a place that already feels visual before you ever pick up a camera.

For a photography gallery, that setting matters.

We wanted Gallery Santa Barbara to feel connected to the city, but also connected to the larger landscapes that inspire us. The coastline, Channel Islands, Hawaii, Yosemite, the Eastern Sierra, the deserts, the forests, and the wildlife that move through these places all belong to the larger story of the West and the Pacific.

Our hope is that the gallery becomes a place where people can discover artwork that reminds them of where they have been, where they dream of going, or what they love most about the natural world.

As much as we are excited about the new website, there is still nothing quite like seeing the prints in person.

The depth of an acrylic, the clean modern feel of a metal print, the texture of canvas, the quiet elegance of a matted print, and the detail of fine art paper are all easier to appreciate when you can stand in front of them.
