Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary at Gallery Santa Barbara

This Fourth of July is more than another summer holiday. On July 4, 2026, our country celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
It is a remarkable milestone, and Santa Barbara is one of the most beautiful places imaginable to spend it.
With celebrations happening throughout the city, State Street filled with visitors, and fireworks planned along the waterfront, we invite you to make Gallery Santa Barbara part of your Fourth of July experience.

Discover a New Fine Art Gallery on State Street
Gallery Santa Barbara is located on State Street in the heart of Santa Barbara’s Arts District, near the historic Granada Theatre and surrounded by many of the city’s restaurants, shops, theaters, and cultural destinations.
Inside the gallery, you will find the photography of Nolan Nitschke and Philip Waller displayed as museum-quality metal and acrylic prints.
Nolan’s collection is rooted in the mountains, deserts, forests, and wild landscapes of California and the American West. His work includes photographs from Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lakes, the Eastern Sierra Nevada, Death Valley, Joshua Tree, the California coast, and other remarkable places across the country.
Philip’s work takes visitors beneath the surface and into the tropical waters of Hawaii. His collection includes intimate underwater photographs of Hawaiian green sea turtles, vibrant marine life, powerful ocean waves, and the quiet beauty of the islands.
Together, the two collections create a journey from summit to sea.
Add Art to Your Fourth of July in Santa Barbara

Along the way, step inside Gallery Santa Barbara and spend some time surrounded by the natural beauty of the places that make this country so extraordinary.
A gallery visit can be a quiet pause in the middle of a busy holiday. It is a chance to slow down, look more closely, and experience landscapes and wildlife from an entirely different perspective.
You may discover a place you have visited before, a scene that brings back a favorite memory, or a photograph that inspires your next adventure.
Celebrating the Landscapes That Define America
As photographers, so much of our inspiration has come from the land itself.
America’s national parks, mountain ranges, coastlines, forests, deserts, and wild spaces have shaped our lives and our work. They have challenged us, humbled us, and given us moments we will never forget.
The 250th anniversary of our country is an opportunity to celebrate its history, but it is also a chance to appreciate the landscapes that have become part of our shared identity.
From Yosemite’s towering granite cliffs to the ancient trees of California, these places remind us that some of our country’s greatest treasures cannot be built or replaced. They must be experienced, respected, and protected.
Photography allows us to preserve a small piece of that beauty and share it with others.
